Good Morning!

I hope all of you are having a great morning.  I have been thinking about expanding my blog to include my artwork, my business, my team, and my family.  I have found that I have not enjoyed updating my blog as much as I should and I think it is because I have used it just for my artwork and business and I would like to interact more with my readers.  I have a lot of experience that I would love to share and I bet you have experience and hope that you could offer me as well.  I will still be posting my artwork since creating art, teaching, and sharing feeds me.

I love the words above.  What a wonderful promise.  I especially like the idea of smiling as you start again.  Sets the stage and the positive feelings and energy.

Let me reintroduce myself and actually give you more information about myself.  Please introduce yourself in the comments.  I find that connection between each other is so important.  Isolation is tough and feeling like you don't belong is even worse.

So, a few facts.  I was born in Los Angeles, California a long time ago.  We moved to Pacific Palisades when I was in 3rd grade and my heart is still there.  I grew up in the '60's and '70's and still have the heart of the hippie that I was at that time.  Such an exciting time to be growing up!

I left California 32 years ago when I married a man in the Air Force.  We moved to Turkey, Germany and then Columbus, Mississippi.  I now live in a suburb of Memphis, Tennessee.

I have five kids who are all adult (aged) and after my divorce from my Air Force husband and 7 years of being a single mother, I married a man with five adult children.  We have been married for 16 years and are currently raising two more kids (his youngest daughter's two oldest kids) and I am working at helping my son, who has autism, make an independent life.

I am a daughter of an alcoholic and the mother of an addict.  Life has been exciting, to say the least, and not how it was supposed to be.  At least not in "my script." But I am thoroughly living my life and am grateful.

We are "owned" by six furbabies.  They are a big part of our family and make me laugh so much.  We have three cats and three dogs.  I didn't intend to have six animals.  It just happened.  The last four were rescues.  My brother told me that I rescued stray animals and stray people.  I think he was correct.  It is a sickness and I my house is full right now.

Now, you ask, why do I post art on my blog?  Art has saved my sanity.  With so many people in my life, it can get pretty stressful.  Art is my meditation.  It is for me.  It is where I express my thoughts, revel in gorgeous colors, and find my personal challenges.  Many mornings art has given me the reason to get up in the morning and has surrounded me with wonderful people who support me and cheer me on.  Art has changed me for the better (and makes me more than a little OCD).

So that is a bit about me.  Tell me about you.

Cardmaking Workshop Your Way Blog Hop

Welcome to the Cardmaking Workshop Your Way Blog Hop!

This hop I am following {Kirsten Desorcy's Blog.}   We have 14 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this Cardmaking Workshop Your Way Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

We would like to show you a product line that you may not be aware of.  It comes in a very nondescript bag.  But in this bag is a big surprise that you can do more with than what it was intended for.  They are the Cardmaking Workshop Your Way kits.

Each of us have picked our favorite kits from the Seasonal Expressions Catalog (that retires at the end of this month) and designed something different to show you the versatility of the stamp set that is included in this kit or has used the supplies in a different way than the instructions pictured.  These kits have stamp sets that can only be purchased in the kit.  I have chosen to use the kit, Workshops Your Way® Here for You Cardmaking Kit (G1124).
This Workshops Your Way® kit contains materials for creating 12 cards. Easy-to-follow online instructions guide you in creating two different card designs. Thanks to the interchangable designs and stamp sentiments, you have ultimate control over the creative process, so you can always make your cards your way.

Here are the cards that you can download the instructions to make.

And here is the card that I made.

I used the fern stamp to stamp a pattern on the frame that goes around the sentiment.  I used Slate Ink on Slate cardstock.  I cut the oval in the wood patterned paper with my Cricut using our Artistry Cricut Collection so that the Ombre paper with the sentiment peeks through and is showcased.

The flower stamps are two step stamps and are super easy to use.  You just stamp the solid image and then stamp the outline over it.  Then I fussy cut them.  I added a few sparkles and assembled the card.

The Smoothie Ombre paper is from the Paper Fundamentals Whimsy collection and the wood patterned paper is from Dreamin' Big.  The Dreamin' Big paper collection and this Workshop Your Way are "while supplies last", so get them now before they are gone.

Here's my sweet ragdoll kitty, Chloe, with my card.  Doesn't she looked thrilled?  Chloe has real Cattitude!

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I would love for you to show me a little love by leaving me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Wendy Kessler's Blog} and see what she has made with one of our card Workshop Your Ways.

You can purchase any of the supplies used in my artwork on my website.

Look at this stinkin' cute stamp set!  I am going for whimsical again with this card.  I wanted bright colors so I pulled out the Some Kinda Wonderful Paper Pack and I wanted some shine so I added reinker to my shimmer brush.  That way I could paint with my shimmer brush.

I love to fussy cut said no one ever.  Ha ha!  With Thin Cuts, you do not have to fussy cut and crafting is super easy and fast.

We have had a lot going on this month and boy did I need fast and easy.  I used the Dreamin' Big Paper Pack for my card.  See my Poppy Red heart with the words on it?  That is actually a zip strip that I cut up and adhered to a piece of cardstock and then cut out with the Hearts Thin Cuts (Z3260).

I also used a Picture My Life card from the paper pack.  I just love the sentiment.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I would love for you to show me a little love by leaving me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Michelle Loncar's Blog} and see what she has made with this adorable stamp set.

March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Tea-rrific

Welcome to the March Stamp of the Month
Blog Hop!

This month I am following {Melissa Robinson's Blog.}   We have 28 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

The March Stamp of the Month is entitled Tea-rrific (S1703) (Set of 12).   Here is a picture of this stamp set:

Love, love, love these teacups.  And I am especially attached to the sentiments on this set.  I have been participating in a mixed media workshop the past few months and we actually worked on a layout that had a stack of teacups.

I wanted bright colors so I pulled out the Some Kinda Wonderful Paper Pack and my ShinHan markers.  The heart strip is actually one of our zip strips from that paper pack. Add some black dots and draw some wiggly lines around the sentiment and voila, here is my card.

The March Stamp of the Month Stamp Set can be purchased for $17.95 or if you purchase $50 in CTMH products, you can add this stamp set to your order for an additional $5.  This stamp set is only available between March 1 – March 31, 2017.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I would love for you to show me a little love by leaving me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Cat Nowak's Blog} and see what she has made with this adorable stamp set.

Fundamentals Creative Collections Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fundamentals Creative Collections Blog Hop!

This hop I am following {Melissa Robinson's Blog.}   We have 22 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this Fundamentals Creative Collections Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

With the new Fundamentals complements added in the Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog, we have a huge number of different patterns and colors of Fundamentals that will go with our other seasonal papers or with each other.

I was lucky enough to be able to go to Salt Lake City last month to attend a special set of classes held for Close to My Heart team builders.  I love to go there because I learn so much and get to see so many of my close friends that I have met through the years as a Close to My Heart Consultant.  I also get to meet new friends.

This time, the fantastic Close to My Heart Art Department designed us a set of layouts that we could use to commemorate our time at Team Builders.  I don't have pictures on them yet, but I wanted to share a couple of these beautiful layouts that I put together at Team Builders.

Here is the cover page. On this page, we used the Springtime Complements from the Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog.  And we use tons of different patterns from the Uptown Fundamentals, the Adventure Fundamentals and the Whimsy Fundamentals.  Look how well they all go together.

I also want to share the last page with you.

This page uses the previous sets of Fundamentals but also adds in the Enchantment Fundamentals and the My Girl Complements.  I love the clustering.  The Complement packages now make it easier to add clusters to your artwork by showing suggested clusters on the package.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I would love for you to show me a little love by leaving me a comment and then please go to our next artist, {Cat Nowak's Blog} and see what she has made with this adorable stamp set.

You can purchase any of the supplies used in my artwork on my website.
